1956 was the year that the first containers met ship and set sail in order to transport goods from Newark, New Jersey to Houston, Texas. From that day forward containers have seen a tremendous change in not only the way companies transport their goods but now in the way that the containers themselves are used. The basics in most all businesses are the same, our dad always had a saying and the key to business could be narrowed down to six simple words…

"Find a need and fill it". In August, 2005 the need for housing the U.S. changed. When Hurricane Katrina made landfall in the United Sates the consequences of not being prepared were catastrophic.  Nearly four years later and there still are no real solutions to making quick, strong, and affordable housing. Now take it a step further and make houses from fully engineered, recycled, Corten steel shipping containers and you have the base for    Cat. 5 Cabins. That is where Cat. 5 starts but that is far from where it ends.

Since 2005 shipping containers started showing up in the news stories in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Netherlands, China, Australia, New Zealand, and much of Europe. The original interest in using shipping containers began when everyone started complaining about all the containers that were stacking up in every port across the world. People started to realize that we had to come up with some form or alternative and useful way to recycle shipping containers. We came to the same conclusion but had our own way of coming up with the same solution.

As focused on saving money as we all are, especially in times where the future is uncertain, it's more important than ever to make sure that you get the most return for every dollar that you spend. Value can be a lot of things to different people. We've had some people come in and say that the most important thing was strength, or durability. To some people value comes from being environmentally friendly, recycling, and helping to preserve what we have for generations to come.

Most people out there they  say "bottom line how much does it cost" We believe that  in the end its going to be a combination of all of them mixed in with customer service that's second to none which makes Cat. 5 Cabins built by Wright Manufacturing from shipping containers the best value for your money period.
